The Virgo New Moon at 0° on August 23rd – Why This One Feels Personal

There’s a New Moon at 0° Virgo, and I’m not going to write the usual “forecast” this time. I want to share why this one feels so personal for me.

It’s landing in my 9th house, right where my North Node (6° Virgo) and Jupiter (4° Virgo) sit. So it’s not just any New Moon—it’s activating my path of growth, learning, and expansion. Virgo in the 9th is about taking all that big spiritual searching and grounding it into daily practice. That’s always been a theme for me: not just talking about meaning but actually living it.

It’s also making a sextile to my Scorpio Sun at 0°, which feels supportive, but at the same time it squares my Sagittarius rising. That’s the push-pull I know so well: part of me just wants to leap into the next adventure (Sagittarius), but Virgo is asking me to slow down, refine, and really pay attention to the details. On top of that, Uranus is squaring my Nodes right now, so it feels like the ground is shifting under me anyway—change is coming whether I’m ready or not. Uranus is electric and brings events that are unexpected.

And here’s the serendipity: this week I’m starting a trance mediumship class. I didn’t plan it around the New Moon, but it lines up perfectly. It feels like exactly what Virgo in the 9th is asking of me—committing to a practice that connects me to spirit in a grounded, daily way. Like I’m planting a seed that could grow into something much bigger over time.

That’s how I feel this New Moon: it’s a seed moment. Not loud or dramatic, but a quiet beginning.

Looking Back to When I Booked This Trip

When I checked my booking info, I realized I made the reservation on April 13, during the Full Moon with the Sun in Aries and the Moon in Libra.

That Full Moon was lighting up my chart in big ways. The Moon was close to my Scorpio Sun in the 11th house, highlighting themes of community, connection, and belonging. The Sun was in my 5th house, bringing in creativity, play, and joy. Looking back, it feels like that Full Moon moment was the spark—me saying yes to something that would expand me, put me in new environments, and invite inspiration in.

At the same time, Jupiter was opposite my natal Neptune in Sagittarius in the 1st house. That energy feels like stepping into the unknown—an expansion into possibility without knowing where it might lead. It was a leap of faith, pure and simple.

Now, months later, I’ve arrived here under the New Moon in Virgo, right on my North Node and Jupiter. It feels like the story has come full circle. The April Full Moon was the spark; this Virgo New Moon is the seed. One was the yes, the leap. The other is the grounding, the devotion, the beginning of turning that yes into something real.

What a New Moon in Virgo Means

A New Moon in Virgo is about starting fresh with clarity, intention, and devotion to the small steps that create big change over time. Virgo energy asks us to slow down, pay attention, and refine. It’s not about being perfect—it’s about being present. This lunation invites new beginnings in how we care for ourselves, how we organize our daily lives, and how we dedicate our energy to what truly matters. Think of it as planting a seed of order, healing, or service that will grow with steady attention.

For me, this Virgo New Moon is about devotion—showing up for my path, even when it’s not flashy. For you, it may be something else. But wherever it lands, it’s a chance to begin again.
